An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Chartered Structural Engineer to lead a high-profile structures function delivering complex infrastructure and asset management projects across highways and public assets. This role is critical in managing structural safety, emergency response, inspections, maintenance programmes and the delivery of structural engineering projects across a diverse portfolio including bridges, retaining walls, culverts, reservoirs and geotechnical assets.

This is a senior leadership role requiring both strong technical expertise and the ability to manage teams, budgets, stakeholders and emergency situations within a highly regulated environment.

The Role

You will lead and manage the Structures team, overseeing inspections, assessments, monitoring and maintenance programmes across a broad range of structural assets. You will act as the lead technical authority on all structural engineering matters, supporting both planned capital works and emergency response situations.

The position will involve managing structural design projects, overseeing contractors and consultants, providing technical leadership, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, standards and contractual obligations.
