A leading nuclear organisation in the UK is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a prestigious and high-profile project within the nuclear and defence sectors. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior engineer to contribute to the development of critical systems on a significant project.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert technical support within specialist design areas, ensuring adherence to project deadlines and objectives.
- Review and approve technical documents, designs, calculations, analyses, drawings, and models, ensuring that they meet the highest standards for design documents and technical reports.
- Make key engineering decisions from both a project and technical standpoint, ensuring alignment with overall project goals.
- Act as the Technical Authority or Lead Mechanical Engineer when required, demonstrating strong leadership within the project team.
- Manage all changes within the project scope, ensuring they are assessed and implemented in line with the project's technical requirements.
- Ensure compliance with relevant engineering procedures, codes, and standards throughout the entire project lifecycle.
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering (or a related discipline).
- Significant experience working within highly regulated environments, particularly in the nuclear sector, with the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams.
- Proven experience handling a range of complex engineering tasks, from concept to delivery.
- Strong track record in managing engineering scope and ensuring quality delivery across all project phases.
- Chartered Engineer status is preferred, but not essential.
- Active UK security clearance is required for this role.
