Are you an experienced Health & Safety Manager with a background in major infrastructure projects, ideally for a main contractor? Do you have experience supporting large-scale construction projects and working across multiple live sites?
Location: Buckinghamshire (across 3 sites)
Rate: £550 to £650 day inside IR35, dependent on experience
Contract: 6 Months +

An exciting opportunity has opened up for an experienced Health & Safety Manager to join a major contractor delivering works on one of the UK's largest infrastructure projects. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an established project team, providing Health & Safety leadership across three live sites. Reporting into the Lead H&S Manager, you'll play a key role in ensuring works are delivered safely, compliantly and in line with company and client expectations.
Responsibilities:
- Provide Health & Safety support across three live project sites.
- Carry out regular site inspections, audits and workplace observations.
- Promote a proactive safety culture through engagement with site teams and subcontractors.
- Review RAMS, safe systems of work and construction activities to ensure compliance.
- Support incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Monitor compliance with company procedures, client requirements and UK Health & Safety legislation.
Essential Experience:
- Previous experience working as a Health & Safety Manager or Senior Health & Safety Advisor on major infrastructure or construction projects.
- Major project experience within rail, highways, energy, water or other large infrastructure sectors.
- Strong understanding of UK Health & Safety legislation and CDM Regulations.
- Experience working on large-scale civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience carrying out inspections, audits, investigations and driving continual improvement.
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate, NEBOSH Diploma or a Health & Safety Degree is preferred, although equivalent experience will also be considered.
Desirable Experience:
- Experience working for a Tier 1 contractor.
- Chartered or working towards Chartered status.
