Are you a design Manager with experience working on Network Rail schemes? Have you previously worked on listed buildings or heritage projects?

Location: Bristol, 3 days in office

Rate: £350-£450 per day (inside)

Duration: 1 year with extensions

My client is seeking an experienced Design Manager to support the development and delivery of rail infrastructure projects through the pre-construction phase.

This role requires strong experience within the Network Rail environment and previous involvement in projects involving listed buildings or heritage assets.

You will:

  • Coordinate design teams, stakeholders and delivery functions.
  • Develop survey and site investigation strategies.
  • Support governance, assurance and approval processes.
  • Manage project risks, opportunities and change control.
  • Contribute to cost planning and commercial management.

You must have:

  • Proven experience delivering rail projects through design and construction phases.
  • Strong knowledge of Network Rail standards, processes and assurance requirements.
  • Experience working on listed buildings, heritage projects or historic structures.
  • Engineering background in Civil Engineering, Rail, M&E, Geotechnical, Signalling, Telecoms, E&P or Permanent Way.
  • Good understanding of NEC3 contracts.
  • Strong stakeholder management and coordination skills.

Desirable:

  • Chartered status (ICE, APM or equivalent).
  • SMSTS.
  • PTS.
  • Temporary Works Coordinator.
