Rate: Β£450/day inside IR35
Contract Length: Until December(extension likely)
Hours: 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday
A major contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Health & Safety Manager to support the delivery of a major utilities package on one of the UK's largest infrastructure projects.
Working across a programme of utility diversions including water, gas, power and communications, you'll play a key role in supporting the project team, engaging with subcontractors and maintaining strong relationships with the client. This is a site-based role with flexibility to work from home when completing administration or attending meetings remotely.
Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day Health & Safety support across the project.
- Review RAMS and safe systems of work.
- Support project teams with planning and safe delivery of utilities works.
- Carry out site inspections, audits and incident investigations.
- Challenge unsafe behaviours and drive continuous improvement.
- Work closely with subcontractors, project leadership and the client to ensure compliance with company procedures and legislation.
- Promote a positive health & safety culture across the project.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience as a Health & Safety Manager on major infrastructure projects.
- Strong background delivering underground utilities projects including water, gas, power or telecommunications.
- Experience working for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor.
- Confident managing subcontractors and working in a client-facing environment.
- Strong understanding of excavation safety, temporary works and high-risk utilities activities.
- NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent).
