A leading infrastructure project is seeking an experienced Drainage Engineer to join a major HS2 programme based in Brackley. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on complex rail and civil engineering works within one of the UK’s largest infrastructure developments.
We are particularly interested in engineers with a strong drainage design background who have moved into site delivery, project engineering, or assurance-focused roles.
This role would suit professionals with experience as:
- Drainage Engineer
- Resident Engineer
- Project Engineer
- Construction Assurance Engineer
You’ll support the successful delivery of drainage and associated civils packages, ensuring works are completed in line with technical standards, approved drawings, and project specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee drainage installation and construction activities on site
- Review technical submissions, ITPs, WPPs, and QA/QC documentation
- Ensure compliance with approved drainage designs and specifications
- Carry out inspections and assurance activities
- Identify and manage NCRs and technical issues
- Liaise with contractors, site teams, and design engineers
- Support reporting and project progress updates
- Promote high standards of health, safety, and quality
Requirements
- Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or related discipline
- Strong drainage design and delivery experience within infrastructure projects
- Experience on rail, highways, utilities, or heavy civils schemes
- Previous experience in a Project Engineer, Resident Engineer, Site Engineer, or similar role
- Knowledge of construction assurance and QA/QC procedures
- Excellent communication and coordination skills
- Chartered status preferred
Contract Details
- £450–£500 per day
- Inside IR35
- 5 days per week on site in Brackley
