A rail contractor is seeking an experienced Environmental Advisor to support environmental compliance and performance across infrastructure projects. This role will suit someone with strong rail contractor experience who is comfortable operating across site and office environments, supporting project teams, and ensuring environmental obligations are met throughout delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Provide environmental advice and support to operational and project teams.
- Ensure compliance with environmental legislation and Network Rail standards.
- Conduct site inspections and environmental audits.
- Support environmental planning and risk management.
- Assist with ecological and environmental constraints across project delivery.
- Produce reports and support environmental improvement initiatives.
- Liaise with stakeholders and support environmental best practice across projects.
Essential Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years' environmental experience within Network Rail infrastructure.
- Relevant Environmental degree (essential).
- Contractor background (consultancy experience alone will not be considered).
- Strong understanding of Network Rail environmental standards including 015 requirements.
- Experience using MAGIC Map.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable Requirements:
- IEMA/ISEP membership.
- Experience supporting multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of environmental approvals and compliance processes.
