My client is seeking an experienced CDP Manager to support the delivery of MEP packages on a major railway station in Birmingham. This role will focus on driving the programme, coordination, and delivery of specialist systems packages including Telecoms & Security, Fire Detection, Fire Protection, BEMS, and Lighting Control.
The successful candidate will manage specialist subcontractors and design partners, ensuring deliverables are achieved in line with programme requirements, contractual obligations, and project milestones. This is not a technical role. Instead, the position requires a strong project delivery mindset with the ability to coordinate interfaces, manage information flow, and drive accountability across multiple stakeholders and specialist subcontractors.
The business is looking for someone who can take ownership, maintain momentum, and proactively manage programme, coordination, and delivery challenges across a live and complex project environment.
Essential Requirements:
- Strong understanding of MEP systems including Telecoms, Security, Fire Detection, Fire Protection, or BEMS
- Previous experience on rail, station, or major infrastructure projects
- Experience managing Contractor Design Portion (CDP) packages
- Good understanding of NEC contracts
- Experience managing programme delivery, interfaces, and specialist subcontractors
- Strong stakeholder management and coordination skills
- Commercial awareness with experience supporting cost control and change management
- Ability to manage installation, testing, commissioning, and handover activities
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to drive programme and hold delivery teams accountable to key milestones
Desired Requirements:
- Experience managing multidisciplinary interfaces across large-scale schemes
- Previous experience within target cost (NEC Option C) project environments
- Understanding of Early Warnings and Compensation Events under NEC contracts
This is an excellent opportunity to join a major infrastructure project at a key delivery stage, with works due to ramp up over the coming weeks. The business is looking to appoint quickly and is open to considering strong candidates from transferable sectors with relevant MEP and project delivery experience.
