They are seeking an Intermediate Building Services Engineer (Mechanical) to join a growing team based in Billericay. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of projects, primarily within the healthcare and education sectors. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality mechanical building services designs while supporting projects from initial concept through to completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver mechanical building services designs to a high technical standard, on time and within budget.
- Prepare detailed engineering calculations, specifications, reports, and drawings.
- Meet with clients to understand project requirements and develop practical engineering solutions.
- Assist in the preparation and review of tender documentation, reports, and recommendations.
- Manage projects through all stages of design and construction.
- Carry out site inspections, surveys, commissioning activities, and condition assessments.
- Monitor installation works and ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Develop energy strategies and sustainable mechanical design solutions.
- Produce designs using IES software, AutoCAD, and Revit.
- Coordinate pipework and ductwork distribution systems with other disciplines.
- Support monthly fee forecasting and project financial performance.
About You
- A Degree or Master's qualification in Engineering.
- Experience in mechanical building services design within the built environment.
- Proficiency with IES mechanical design software.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and ideally Revit.
- A good understanding of current building regulations, CIBSE guidance, industry standards, and best practice.
- Strong communication and project coordination skills.
- A proven ability to manage workloads and meet project deadlines.
- Chartered Engineer status or be working towards chartership.
- Membership of CIBSE, the Energy Institute, or a similar professional body (desirable).
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
