Role: Quantity Surveyor
Rate: Circa Β£450/Day - Inside IR35 (Negotiable DOE)
Location: Taunton / Bristol (Minimum 3 days per week on site)
Length of Contract: Initial 6 months

Our client is looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team, supporting the delivery of high-profile energy and infrastructure projects across the South West. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on complex civil engineering and utility schemes while gaining exposure to all aspects of project commercial management.
Job Role
As Quantity Surveyor, you will support the commercial management of projects from contract award through to final account. Working alongside Senior Quantity Surveyors and Project Managers, you'll prepare commercial reports, manage subcontractor accounts, administer compensation events, monitor project risks, and contribute to cost reporting and forecasting. You'll also identify variations and claims, attend project meetings, and ensure commercial activities are delivered in line with company procedures and Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental standards.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within utilities, energy, civil engineering or infrastructure
- Good understanding of NEC contracts
- Experience managing subcontractor accounts, valuations, variations and final accounts
- Knowledge of compensation events and commercial change management
- Strong commercial awareness with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
- Full UK Driving Licence
