Location: Kent (covering Southern Region sites)
Salary: £55,000 + Company Van & Fuel Card
A rail contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to support the safe delivery of rail works across the Southern Region. This is a field-based role supporting operational teams across site, providing practical H&S guidance and ensuring compliance across live rail environments. The successful candidate must be capable of working independently and have a strong understanding of how Network Rail operates.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out site inspections and audits across live rail projects.
- Support operational teams with health & safety compliance and best practice.
- Promote a positive safety culture and drive behavioural improvement.
- Provide practical advice and challenge where required.
- Support investigations and close out actions.
- Build strong relationships with internal teams and client representatives.
- Maintain compliance with Network Rail standards and procedures.
Essential Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years' Health & Safety experience within Network Rail infrastructure.
- NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate.
- Strong knowledge of Network Rail standards including L153 and RM3 principles.
- Previous contractor experience (Tier 1, Tier 2 or specialist contractor background considered).
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable Requirements:
- IOSH membership.
