About the Role
As a Structural Engineer, you’ll play an integral role in delivering high‑quality design solutions, from concept through to detailed design and construction support. You’ll work closely with architects, clients, and contractors to ensure structures are safe, buildable, sustainable and aligned with project objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare structural designs, calculations and technical drawings for a variety of projects (residential and commercial)
- Perform structural analysis and design using industry‑standard software
- Liaise with architects, contractors and other consultants to deliver integrated design solutions.
- Contribute to project planning, risk assessments and value engineering
- Review and produce specifications in line with relevant UK codes and standards
- Provide technical support during construction and respond to contractor queries
Requirements
- Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering (MEng / BEng)
- Professional experience in structural design, ideally within consultancy practice
- Competent in structural analysis and design tools
- Strong technical understanding of materials including steel, concrete, timber and masonry
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Working towards, or already chartered with, a relevant professional body (e.g., IStructE/ICE) is desirable
