About the Role
As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will play a key technical leadership role, delivering innovative and efficient structural engineering solutions from concept through to detailed design. You will work on a variety of project types β including commercial, residential, education, industrial and infrastructure β and act as a trusted engineer for both internal teams and external clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the structural design and technical delivery of projects in accordance with UK standards and regulatory requirements.
- Produce and review detailed structural calculations, drawings, BIM models (2D/3D), specifications and reports.
- Provide engineering judgment on material selection (steel, concrete, masonry, timber) and design strategies.
- Collaborate closely with architects, civil engineers, technicians and project stakeholders to coordinate multidisciplinary designs.
- Mentor and support junior engineers and technicians, fostering high technical standards and knowledge sharing.
- Engage with clients and external partners to develop strong relationships and support business growth.
- Ensure compliance with BIM protocols and project quality assurance processes.
Experience & Qualifications
- Chartered or near-chartered status with a UK engineering institution (e.g., IStructE/ICE) preferred.
- Strong track record in a UK structural design office with demonstrable experience across multiple project sectors.
- Proficiency in structural analysis and design software, with experience in BIM/Revit highly desirable.
- Deep understanding of design codes, technical standards and UK construction best practices.
- Excellent technical report writing, communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage project budgets, deliverables and timelines effectively.
