To lead the end-to-end financial management, governance, systems, and performance reporting of the international RTS Textiles Group. The role ensures delivery of accurate, insightful, and timely financial information, strong internal controls, proactive cash leadership, and the ongoing development of a finance function capable of supporting an evolving multi‑jurisdictional group. A key focus is continuous improvement, legal entity simplification, and integration of acquisitions/JVs into a single streamlined trading model.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting, Governance & Compliance
- Lead and own the full Group consolidation across UK, Portugal, Germany, France, Asia and dormant entities.
- Drive the month‑end close cycle, ensuring reporting accuracy, transparency and variance insight.
- Ensure statutory accounts for all active entities are delivered on time with minimal external audit adjustments.
- Oversight of corporate governance, working with local finance teams in Portugal, Germany & France.
- Full ownership of all tax compliance: UK and overseas VAT, CT, and transfer pricing.
- Manage the ongoing Portuguese TP/tax authority audit, ensuring technical defence is coordinated with advisers.
- Maintain policy and control frameworks across the group with clear accountability and periodic review.
- Cash & Treasury Leadership
- Lead Group cash forecasting (short‑term and strategic 13‑week model).
- Optimise working capital: stock financing, invoice discounting, multi‑bank structures and rationalisation plans.
- Business Partnering & Strategic Decision Support
- Finance partner to SLT and Directors to give a high level of support.
- Provide financial modelling and challenge for business transformation, commercial opportunities and cost initiatives.
- Support pricing and margin decisions across UK and European operations.
- Support budget, forecast and scenario planning cycles aligned to strategy.
- Entity Simplification, M&A and Post‑Deal Integration
- Lead the finance workstream of group‑wide restructuring:
- Mergers of Alltex & Carrington under RTS Textiles Ltd
- Full acquisition and consolidation of MGC/STM‑11
- Transition toward MGC becoming the European trading hub
- Dormant and JV company dissolutions (e.g. HK entity)
- Oversee intercompany alignment and elimination of legacy complexity.
- Sponsor systems integration and future ERP programme, including ledger simplification in IBS.
- Drive automation, reduction of manual journals, improved reconciliations and closing discipline.
- Reduce bank and factoring accounts to streamlined operating structure.
- Build reporting tools outside IBS (GM accuracy, stock visibility, intercompany reconciliation solutions).
- Lead and develop the finance team (FA, MA and transactional finance oversight).
- Build capability so operational finance can “run” without senior escalation.
- Create a high‑performance culture focused on proactive improvement, ownership and commercial thinking.
- Implement clear succession planning and risk‑free delegation.
KPIs / Success Measures
- Month‑end completion to timetable with >98% accuracy and actionable insights
- Clean annual audits with minimal management points
- Accurate, trusted cash forecasting with early visibility of risk
- System and process improvements reducing manual effort and reconciling items

Weekly / Monthly / Annual Responsibilities
- Weekly - Cash reporting; review covenant headroom; leadership check‑ins; operational finance support; stakeholder engagement (CEO/CFO/operations/sales).
- Monthly - Final review of Group management accounts and consolidation; Board pack input; debtor/stock exposure challenge; VAT reviews; entity performance reviews (UK/PT/DE/FR/PAK).
- Quarterly - Strategic cash forecast updates; banking relationship reviews; risk register update; process improvement tracking.
- Annual - Statutory accounts & audit; group budgeting and investment planning; transfer pricing compliance; entity rationalisation and tax governance.
Skills & Experience
- Strong technical accounting & consolidation expertise including foreign currency and multi‑ledger environments
- Experience in manufacturing
- Knowledge of international tax compliance and TP governance
- Excellent business partnering capabilities with a strategic mindset
- Advanced Excel and ERP capabilities (including transformation projects)
- Proven track record creating strong teams & developing finance talent
- Experience of M&A integration and JV exit/acquisition accounting
