Research required to work for a fast growing and exciting company based in Wigan, Greater Manchester / Lancashire. This is an office based role.

Day to day tasks:

  • Researching family trees, including searching through genealogical records and other documentation. This can involve searching online or manual records as well as visiting record centres and archives to view original records.
  • Interviewing family members and other relevant persons about their family history and/or knowledge of a family tree.
  • Ordering and reviewing certificates and other relevant documents to prove or progress the research.
  • Updating solicitors, public sector contacts and beneficiaries (where required).
  • Assisting with ancillary services, such as divorce searches, probate searches and Will searches.
  • Assisting Case Managers with compiling family history reports; including hand-drawn and computerised trees, covering letter, mailing lists, making copies of supporting certificates.
