Job Description
Security Operations Lead, CISSP, CISM, SOC Manager, Remote
Security Operations Lead required to work for a Global Professional Services company based in Central London. However, this role will mainly be based from the comfort of your own home but there may be some travel. This will be to the likes of Central London every now and again, and Europe from time to time. ALL travel will be completely expensed from the moment you leave your doorstep!
Please understand this before reading any further – this role is for a jack of all trades, master of none in the world of security. It is so versatile with lots of variety and no two days will be the same. If you are looking for a very structured environment where everything is absolutely in place, this is NOT the role for you. However, due to the methodical approach required in the position, anyone who is ex-forces would be welcomed! This is not essential but just a mention!
The Security Operations Lead is responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of the Global IT Security department. This role involves ensuring the effective handling of security incidents, managing security operations, and leading a team of security professionals to maintain a secure environment.
This role is recognised as the Operational Security expert by internal and external stakeholders. Read on for more details
- Circa 5 years of work experience in information security management and/or related functions (such as IT audit and IT Risk Management)
- Information security management qualifications such as CISSP or CISM
- Trustworthy with high standards of personal integrity (demonstrated by an unblemished career history, complete lack of criminal convictions etc.), and willing to undergo vetting and/or personality assessments to verify this if necessary
- A background in technical IT roles such as IT architecture, development or operations, with a clear and abiding interest in information security
o Expert skills in security system(s) used on nominated platform(s)
o Good technical skills (intrusion detection, penetration tasking, firewall configuration) for nominated platform(s)
o Good knowledge of security risks and preventative controls
o Good understanding of security operational processes and controls
o Good project analysis, problem solving, and business relationship skills
o An understanding of the law as it relates to IT
- Excellent interpersonal skills, written and oral communication and ability to engage a diverse global group of team members
- Strong delivery and change focus; experience in planning, prioritising and organising work for self and others to achieve goals and meet deadlines, including dealing with competing demands and management structures in a complex environment
o Broad, expert knowledge of information security principles and practices
o Thorough, expert knowledge of information systems, operating systems, databases and networking
o Competent consulting and teamwork skills
o Ability to lead, influence and motivate a small team of IT Security Specialists
o Demonstrated understanding of planning and budgeting procedures and principles
- Some knowledge of the legalities of data and physical security systems, together with skills in management, work scheduling and coordination
