To sort, deliver and collect a variety of Mailroom items and associated products by visiting various countywide buildings each day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ability to work under own initiative and manage personal workloads.
  • The post requires the ability to lift and transport heavy items.
  • Complete the courier service to support both internal & external collections.
  • Collect and deliver mail and other items by NCC vehicle.
  • Despatch and collect all mail items within both internal and external agreed SLA’s.
  • Maintain and operate vehicles in accordance with policies, procedures and issued Guidance.
  • Complete all documentation related to vehicle operations as required.
  • Wear protective clothing and PPE as issued.
  • Participate in a business focussed manner to cover the fixed hours to complete the daily courier run.
  • Ensure the cleanliness of all vehicles is maintained to a high standard.
  • Check Resource Hubs on a daily basis and replenish stationery to pre-agreed levels in County Hall and Trent Bridge House.
  • Undertake any other duties which may reasonably be regarded as within the duties and responsibilities of the post as defined in this document.

Person Specification

Education and Knowledge

  • Full endorsement free driving licence.
  • Manual handling training.
  • Work independently without close supervision.
  • Understanding of Local Authority Policies & Procedures.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety policies and procedures and outline knowledge of the principles of the Data Protection Act.

Personal Skills and General Competencies

  • Willingness to learn new skills and participate in personal development opportunities.
  • Ability to meet delivery targets and agreed objectives by effective use of resources and time.
  • Ability to devise solutions and prioritise resources.

Experience

  • Minimum of 4 years driving experience.
