PAYE pay rate – £32.54
You’ll manage your own portfolio of planning enforcement cases while also providing senior support to colleagues across the team. You’ll have the opportunity to deal with a varied caseload, from smaller technical breaches through to significant unauthorised developments, while helping shape and improve the Council’s enforcement service.
What you’ll be doing:
- Managing planning enforcement cases from investigation through to resolution
- Evaluating evidence and working with internal teams and external agencies
- Providing specialist planning enforcement and development management advice
- Preparing professional reports and recommendations for delegated decisions
- Attending and presenting at Planning Committees, public inquiries, court hearings and site meetings
- Supporting colleagues with complex enforcement cases and appeals
- Providing line management and performance support to enforcement officers
- Developing relationships with customers, stakeholders and partner organisations
- Helping implement new procedures and drive continuous improvement across the service
Why consider the opportunity?
This is more than a case-management role. You’ll have the opportunity to influence service delivery, support colleagues and contribute to the ongoing development of planning enforcement across a large and diverse county.
Shropshire Council is looking for someone who can combine strong technical planning enforcement knowledge with excellent communication, sound professional judgement and a genuine commitment to delivering a high-quality public service.
If you have strong experience in planning enforcement and development management and are looking for your next senior opportunity within local government, I’d be very interested in speaking with you.
