Key Requirements for Head of Revenues and Benefits:
- Significant experience in a Head of Revenues and Benefits role (Head of Service).
- Experience of managing the annual end to end review of a Local Council Tax Support/Reduction scheme.
- Developing and managing staff through a period of significant change.
- Experience of dealing with elected Councillors, MPs & the Ombudsman.
- In depth working knowledge and experience of the relevant legislation.
- Previous experience of working at senior leadership level, leading a high performing service, overseeing the full scope of statutory Revenues and Benefits functions including Council Tax, Business Rates, Housing Benefits, Local Council Tax Support and the Councils Corporate Fraud Team.
- Strong focus on the collection fund, policy development and service transformation.
- Act as the Council’s lead expert on Revenues and Benefits legislation, advising senior leadership and driving performance, compliance and financial stability across a large and complex service.

- A real understanding of how to apply digital tools within services.
