Main Purpose of the Role
To lead and manage the Housing Management Team, ensuring a high-quality, customer-focused and efficient service for tenants and leaseholders.
Typical Day
- Manage and support the Housing Management Team.
- Oversee tenancy, leasehold, estate and income management services.
- Manage rent collection, arrears and debt recovery.
- Oversee tenancy enforcement, ASB and complex housing cases.
- Ensure compliance with housing legislation, regulations and health & safety requirements.
- Support vulnerable residents to sustain their tenancies.
- Lead tenant engagement and consultation activities.
- Monitor performance, budgets and service standards.
- Develop and implement housing strategies, policies and improvement plans.
- Work with internal teams and external partners to deliver joined-up services.
- Deputise for the Head of Housing Management when required.
- Participate in the out-of-hours housing on-call rota.
Key Skills & Experience
- Strong housing management experience, ideally within a Local Authority or Registered Provider.
- Experience managing and developing a team.
- Knowledge of housing legislation, regulation and case law.
- Experience managing budgets and improving service performance.
- Strong understanding of tenancy, estate and income management.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and report-writing skills.
- Strong customer-focused and solution-driven approach.
- Experience managing change and service improvement.
Essential Requirements
- Relevant degree or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 yearsβ staff management experience.
- Housing management experience within a Local Authority, Registered Provider or similar organization.
- Full driving license and access to a vehicle.
- Willingness to participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota.
- DBS clearance required.
