The Support Officer role in our team is more like an office administrator role, requiring work on a variety of tasks across various projects and collaboration with different team members. We are looking for someone who is flexible and adaptable when working on different projects.

The ideal candidate will have excellent time management skills and understand how to prioritise their workload, as well as re-prioritise if new urgent requests arise. The role involves supporting the delivery across several projects, which may include setting up meetings, taking minutes, progressing actions from meetings, and providing regular communication to stakeholders.

Working pattern: Full time

Working arrangement: Office base is County Hall, Chichester, with hybrid working. One day a week in Chichester and the rest of the week working remotely.

Length of assignment: Until 31 March 2026, with the possibility of extension.

This is an exciting opportunity to join West Sussex County Council’s Economic Growth Team, which delivers a broad range of evidence-led economic initiatives and programmes in response to the needs and opportunities of the West Sussex economy. The Project Support Officer will play an important role in supporting the delivery of new projects and will have the opportunity to help shape the approach.

The role holder will coordinate activities in line with the team business plan and assist in the development and staging of various events, including meetings, seminars, and briefings. They will also support communications and marketing activities, including through social media. There is a regular requirement to communicate in English with members of the public.
