As a middle manager within the Council, you will:

  • Lead, manage, and motivate your team to achieve high performance.
  • Ensure departmental people practices are understood and implemented.
  • Manage budgets and projects effectively, focusing on cost management and prioritization.
  • Monitor team performance and recommend improvements based on data.
  • Coach staff development initiatives.
  • Identify service improvement areas using relevant data.
  • Communicate effectively with elected members and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with partner organizations and internal services.
  • Foster a culture of trust within your team.
  • Provide technical advice and manage housing investment planning, asset information, and reporting.
  • Prepare component failure predictions for budgeting and planning.
  • Support development of major works programs from stock data.
  • Provide stock data and technical advice to departments and stakeholders.
  • Maintain the asset database and support IT systems development.
  • Assist the Housing leadership team with service planning and benchmarking.
  • Manage housing stock asset data analysis and reporting.
  • Analyze repairs and maintenance data to improve service delivery.
  • Lead project management duties related to housing stock data and systems.
  • Support digital strategy development and data reporting initiatives.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Ability to engage, coach, motivate teams, and set clear targets.
  • Proven high levels of customer service and satisfaction.
  • Experience managing performance and providing constructive feedback.
  • Experience delivering plans and projects on time and within budget.
  • Ability to plan and manage budgets and resources effectively.
  • Understanding of political structures and the role of elected members.

  • Level 6 qualification in construction/property fields or Level 4 in ICT/Data management with significant asset management experience.
  • Experience with Revit, point cloud modeling, Cobie databases, 3D BIM, and 2D CAD.
  • Experience with management systems like ISO 9001, 45001, or 55001.
  • Knowledge of relevant statutory regulations and standards in construction and building safety.
