PAYE Pay Rate: £27.12 per hour
Main Purpose of the Role
To maintain, service, inspect and repair a range of Council fleet vehicles, ensuring they are safe, reliable and compliant with MOT and DVSA standards.
Typical Day Overview
- Service and repair HGVs, light commercial and municipal vehicles.
- Diagnose and repair hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical faults.
- Prepare vehicles for MOTs and safety inspections.
- Carry out welding, fabrication and body repairs.
- Attend vehicle breakdowns and accident-damaged vehicles.
- Maintain accurate vehicle and repair records.
- Ensure high standards of health & safety and workshop housekeeping.

Essential Requirements / Qualifications
- City & Guilds Level 3 Heavy Motor Vehicle Engineering or equivalent covering MOT inspection standards.
- Full UK Driving License with Category C entitlement - Essential.
- DVSA Inspection & Testing qualification.
- Experience working with HGVs, commercial or municipal vehicles.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a Fleet Services team.
