To support the commissioning of adult social care and housing-related services for people aged 18+. The role helps ensure services are high quality, cost-effective, and aligned with local and national priorities, improving outcomes for residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development, implementation, and review of adult social care commissioning strategies.
- Analyse service performance data and produce clear reports on contracts, KPIs, and provider performance.
- Assist with procurement activity, including drafting specifications, supporting tenders, and evaluating submissions.
- Work with internal teams (finance, legal, procurement, business intelligence) to support commissioning processes.
- Engage with service users, carers, providers, and stakeholders to identify needs and service gaps.
- Support market development through research, benchmarking, and analysis of legislation and policy.
- Contribute to key commissioning documents such as Market Position Statements and service plans.
- Monitor and support contract and quality assurance processes to ensure compliance and improvement.
- Provide advice and insight on commissioned services to colleagues and senior stakeholders.
- Ensure effective use of data systems and maintain compliance with information governance and data protection standards.
Skills & Requirements
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and produce reports.
- Good understanding of adult social care, health, and/or housing commissioning.
- Experience in project coordination and working with multiple stakeholders.
- Ability to manage workload, meet deadlines, and work under pressure.
- Knowledge of procurement, contract management, or service development (desirable).
- Strong communication and influencing skills.
- Competent in Microsoft Office 365 tools.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree level education or equivalent experience in social care, health, commissioning, or related field.
- Experience in project support, data analysis, or commissioning-type work.
- Experience working in partnership or multi-agency environments.
Working Arrangements
- Full-time (37 hours per week)
- Hybrid working (up to 3 days remote)
- Based in Northampton with travel across West Northamptonshire as required
- No line management responsibility
