To help keep the Councilβs buildings, staff, and visitors safe from fire by ensuring fire safety laws are followed, identifying risks, and providing expert advice and training.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain fire safety policies and standards, keeping them up to date with changes in legislation and best practice.
- Develop and deliver fire safety training to improve staff awareness and safe working practices.
- Prepare fire safety reports, risk assessments, and CAD fire safety plans to document findings and required actions.
- Provide expert fire safety advice to managers and staff, ensuring compliance with fire safety legislation.
- Identify fire hazards and recommend practical solutions to reduce or eliminate fire risks.
- Carry out fire risk assessments and fire safety inspections across Council buildings and work activities.
