A detail-oriented Payroll Support Officer responsible for supporting payroll, finance administration, and shared service operations across Trafford Council and Greater Manchester Police. The role involves ensuring accurate payroll processing, reconciliations, invoicing, purchase orders, and employee support while maintaining compliance with payroll legislation and organisational procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process payroll administration tasks and maintain accurate employee records
  • Carry out reconciliations and National Minimum Wage calculations
  • Administer salary sacrifice deductions and employee benefits
  • Raise purchase orders (POs) and process invoices for payment
  • Support invoicing and customer account queries
  • Manage car parking and fleet vehicle administration
  • Respond to payroll and finance-related employee/customer queries
  • Ensure compliance with payroll procedures, legislation, and audit requirements
  • Maintain accurate records and support continuous improvement of systems and processes
  • Work collaboratively with HR, payroll, finance, and shared service teams to meet deadlines and service standards
