To lead a targeted compliance project across the Council’s property estate, ensuring all buildings meet statutory requirements and that any compliance gaps are identified, rectified, and properly documented. The role will prepare the estate for ongoing management by the permanent Compliance Team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake site inspections across the borough to assess statutory compliance (e.g. fire, electrical, gas, and general building safety).
- Identify non-compliance issues and determine required remedial actions.
- Manage and coordinate third-party contractors to deliver necessary works.
- Monitor progress to ensure works are completed on time and to standard.
- Maintain and update compliance trackers and records accurately.
- Work with legal colleagues to clarify compliance responsibilities within property agreements.
- Liaise with the permanent Compliance Team to ensure smooth transition to business-as-usual operations.
Person Specification:
- Strong knowledge of property-related statutory compliance requirements.
- Good understanding of building pathology and M&E (mechanical & electrical) systems.
- Proven experience managing contractors and delivering project-based work.
- High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
