Overview
In this role you will safeguard the Pension Fund’s financial health by leading reporting and accounts preparation, ensuring CIPFA-compliant standards and accurate reflection of fund data.
You will work closely with Fund Managers and internal teams to support responsible investment through ESG reporting and robust audit trails.
This position offers exposure to high-level investment accounting within a dynamic council environment, with a focus on accuracy, governance, and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities
- Lead the Pension Fund Report & Accounts compilation to ensure accuracy and timeliness
- Ensure CIPFA reporting requirements are met and produced to a high standard
- Manage 2.2bn portfolio data and coordinate monthly transaction reports with Fund Managers and London CIV
- Own complex reconciliations and ensure correct recording in financial systems
- Clear pension fund suspense accounts monthly and align with chart of accounts
- Maintain comprehensive working papers and act as primary contact for auditors to ensure data quality
- Liaise with Pension Fund Investment Managers, Custodians, and external administrators for data accuracy
- Raise purchase orders, process invoices, and handle invoice queries
- Assist with ESG governance and passive equity voting and ESG reporting requirements
- Key requirements
- Strong background in financial accounting, ideally in public sector or pension fund environments
- Experience with complex reconcilations, suspense accounts, and general ledger systems
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to handle large datasets (2.2bn fund)
