The surveyor conducts and reviews Fire Risk Assessments (FRAs), provides expert fire safety advice, monitors remedial works, and helps maintain safe environments for residents, staff, contractors, and visitors.
The role also supports the organization in meeting its legal obligations under UK fire safety regulations.
Overview of Typical Day A typical day involves carrying out Fire Risk Assessments and fire safety inspections across residential and commercial properties.
You’ll identify fire risks, record findings, prepare reports, recommend remedial actions, and provide fire safety advice to building managers and contractors.
You’ll also review completed works, update compliance records, and help ensure buildings meet current fire safety legislation and standards.
Main Responsibilities Conduct Fire Risk Assessments in line with current legislation and recognised standards.
Review existing FRAs to ensure they are accurate and of high quality.
Identify fire hazards and evaluate the level of risk.
