This is an OT role in an Urgent Response OT team – excellent manual handling experience and working autonomously is required as it is the main part of the role. We are a busy, pressured team, covering the whole borough of Barnet – car driver preferable.
We offer monthly supervision and day to day support for the right candidate. Must be a team player – we are a small team, who are proactive and positive about providing an excellent service.
Urgent Response Occupational Therapy team referral criteria:
- Moving and handling cases where there is no equipment or current equipment is no longer appropriate.
- High risk of physical injury to carers (e.g. involved in inappropriate transfers).
- A safeguarding concern that relates to equipment or manual handling.
- The client is at immediate risk of injury as they are not able to transfer safely on and off the bed, chair, toilet or walk up/down the stairs.
- Equipment that has been deemed unrepairable/unreplaceable by NRS and without it the person and/or their carer are at high risk of injury.
- A request for an increase from single to double-handed care where a manual handling assessment is required (not decreases of care).
- The client has a palliative diagnosis where Continuing Health Care/North London Hospice is not involved.
1-2 days in the office (Thursday is the office day for the whole team).
