Special Education Needs Finance Officer
Salary Scale: BR4 (£13.60 per hour)
Hours: Temporary (currently to 31st August 2026), Monday to Friday inclusive 36 hours per week
Location: Civic Centre, Churchill Court, 2 Westmoreland Road, Bromley, Kent, BR1 1AS
It is anticipated that the appointed person may be given the opportunity to work in a hybrid manner with at least 2 days being office based with the other 3 days working from home. This will be determined by the nature of the task(s) set.
We are looking for an enthusiastic person with financial awareness and experience of working in a busy team. You will need excellent interpersonal, communication, organisational and ICT skills to join our team.
The working environment is fast-paced, with many externally driven non-negotiable deadlines across these different services. These deadlines often overlap and careful planning, organisation and creative thinking is required to prevent any of the services failing to achieve their reporting and financial deadlines.
The main purpose of the role is to support a range of services provided within the Special Educational Needs Finance Team in a local authority financial environment.
The person will undertake a range of financial functions and include the following:
- Process invoices for educational fees relating to pupils with special education needs attending a range of educational establishments (including independent, day and residential schools, out-borough schools, post-16 placements and other settings) and process invoices for other services.
- Liaise with Social Services regarding financial matters.
