Role Purpose

To manage the end-to-end decant (rehousing) process for residents affected by estate regeneration or major works, ensuring moves are delivered smoothly, fairly, and with a strong focus on resident support and engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of residents requiring temporary or permanent relocation
  • Develop and deliver person-centred decant plans tailored to individual needs
  • Act as the main point of contact, providing clear advice and support throughout the process
  • Identify and support vulnerable residents, working with internal teams and external agencies where needed
  • Coordinate all aspects of the move, including removals, utilities, and property allocations
  • Issue relevant notices and support the processing of home loss and disturbance payments
  • Maintain accurate case records and track progress against key milestones
  • Work closely with lettings, housing management and regeneration teams to deliver successful outcomes
  • Support returning residents moving back into newly developed homes
  • Engage residents in regeneration activities and maintain positive community relationships

Key Requirements

  • Experience in housing, rehousing or tenant liaison within a social housing setting
  • Strong understanding of tenancy management and resident needs
  • Experience managing a busy caseload and working to deadlines
  • Ability to support vulnerable or hard-to-reach residents
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving ability

  • Experience working on estate regeneration or decant programmes
  • Knowledge of home loss and disturbance payments
