To deliver a professional and responsive surveying service, designing and managing property adaptations for disabled residents. The role ensures all works are safe, compliant, completed on time and within budget, while keeping the service user at the centre of all decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess properties to determine suitability for adaptations
- Design adaptation schemes (e.g. ramps, wet rooms, access solutions)
- Prepare drawings and specifications (including AutoCAD)
- Manage projects from design through to completion
- Monitor contractors to ensure quality, cost, and deadlines are met
- Carry out pre‑ and post‑inspections of works
- Prepare documentation for Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) applications
- Identify building defects and recommend appropriate solutions
- Liaise with residents, Occupational Therapists, contractors, and stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with Building Regulations, Health & Safety, and relevant legislation
Skills & Experience
- Experience delivering housing adaptation or building projects
- Knowledge of Disabled Facilities Grants (DFG) processes
- Understanding of Building Regulations and Health & Safety
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
