PAYE Pay Rate: Β£29 – Β£30 per hour

Main Purpose

To investigate and manage Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB), environmental crime and enforcement cases across the borough. The role involves gathering evidence, managing complaints, taking appropriate enforcement action and working with residents, businesses, Police, Council teams and other partner agencies.

Typical Day

  • Investigate ASB, environmental crime and resident complaints.
  • Gather evidence through CCTV, photographs, statements and interviews.
  • Manage caseloads and ensure cases are progressed within agreed timescales.
  • Issue Fixed Penalty Notices and support formal enforcement action.
  • Prepare case files, reports and evidence for legal proceedings.
  • Carry out site visits, inspections and joint visits with partner agencies.
  • Identify safeguarding concerns and support vulnerable residents.
  • Work closely with Police, Legal Services, Waste, Highways and other Council teams.
  • Communicate with residents, businesses, councillors and external agencies.
  • Maintain accurate case records and provide clear written responses.

Essential Requirements

  • Relevant enforcement, ASB, environmental crime or local authority experience.
  • Experience investigating complaints and managing cases.
  • Ability to gather evidence and prepare enforcement case files.
  • Knowledge of ASB and environmental legislation.
  • Working knowledge of PACE and enforcement procedures.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to undertake site visits and inspections.
  • Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings/weekends where required.
  • Standard DBS required.
