Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the letting of garages, parking spaces, barrow stores and other non-residential properties.

  • Manage voids and work with Repairs and Contracts Officers to ensure properties are repaired and re-let as quickly as possible.
  • Carry out regular site and communal inspections, identifying disrepair, ASB, health and safety or other issues affecting lettings.
  • Deal with breaches of licence agreements, carrying out investigations and taking appropriate enforcement action where required.

  • Attend resident meetings, consultations and forums and respond to queries from residents and stakeholders.
  • Ensure GDPR, health and safety, equalities and Council policies are followed at all times.

About You

You will have:

  • Experience of letting non-residential units, ideally garages, parking spaces or similar properties.
  • Experience of managing parking schemes, garages or other property portfolios.
  • Experience in a customer-facing housing, property management or commercial property role.
  • Knowledge of tenancy/licence management and relevant legal processes.
  • Experience managing voids, applications, waiting lists and allocations.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • The ability to deal confidently with breaches, complaints and challenging situations.
  • The ability to work independently, manage your own workload and carry out site visits.
  • A proactive, solution-focused approach with good attention to detail.

What the Role Offers

This is an opportunity to join a local authority Homeownership Services team in a role combining property lettings, customer service, site management, compliance and enforcement.

The successful candidate will play an important role in maximising occupancy and income across the Council's garage and parking portfolio while delivering a high-quality service to residents.
