As the Principal Transport Planner, you will play a key role in shaping transport policy, delivering strategic initiatives, and leading projects that improve connectivity for residents, businesses and wider communities in Herefordshire.
Responsibilities
- Developing and delivering strategic transportation strategies and policies
- Local and regional rail and bus strategy and policy
- Securing transport funding
- Commissioning and managing projects
- Engaging with communities and stakeholders to ensure transport solutions are inclusive and effective
- Tackling key challenges, from rural connectivity to modernising urban infrastructure
Qualifications
- Degree level or equivalently qualified, desirably in a transport or planning related subject
- Sound understanding of current transport policy and legislation, sustainable transport initiatives and the management of transport related policies and programmes, and transportation planning methods
- Experience in development of policy and strategy relating to all modes of transport, along with a sound knowledge of statutory requirements and national policy context for local transport
