PAYE: Β£17.00 per hour

Please note 3 days per week worked are to be Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

This role reports to the Democratic and Electoral Services Manager. It is for 3 days a week (22.5 hours) – Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Mondays and Fridays are covered by another temporary member of staff. Although some working at home can be accommodated, it is the expectation that the postholder will work mainly in the office. Some off-site working may be required. We are looking for an ability to work outside β€˜normal’ office hours occasionally.

Main responsibilities:
  • To provide high-quality administrative support to the Mayor and Deputy Mayor including monitoring the team inbox, diary management, making travel arrangements, managing correspondence in a timely and accurate manner, taking minutes as required.
  • To attend weekly meetings with the Mayor and Deputy Mayor to advise and co-ordinate their engagement attendance.
  • To assist in providing a high-quality event management service for the Mayor and Deputy Mayor, including civic and charitable events. This will include booking premises, arranging transport, organising refreshments, preparing invitations and seating plans and supporting the production of risk assessments.
  • To interact with the Mayor, Deputy Mayor, other councillors, officers and guests in a respectful and professional manner at all times.
