Work pattern: Two days a week in the office minimum 09.00 to 17.30 Monday to Thursday and 09.00 to 16.30 Friday

PAYE Pay Rate: £14.76 per hour

Main Purpose of the Role

To provide high-quality social work support to children with disabilities and their families. The role will focus on safeguarding, assessment, care planning and achieving positive outcomes, while supporting social workers and deputizing for the Team Manager when required.

Typical Day

  • Manage a caseload of children with complex needs.
  • Complete assessments, reviews and care plans.
  • Identify and manage safeguarding and risk concerns.
  • Work closely with families and partner agencies.
  • Supervise and support social workers and practitioners.
  • Support the Team Manager with operational duties.
  • Complete reports, case recordings and quality checks.

Key Skills & Responsibilities

  • Strong safeguarding and risk assessment skills.
  • Good knowledge of children’s legislation and SEND.
  • Experience working with children with disabilities.
  • Ability to supervise and develop staff.
  • Strong decision-making and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
  • Effective multi-agency working.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Commitment to equality, inclusion and positive outcomes for children.
  • Ability to support service improvement and quality assurance.

Essential Requirements

  • Recognized Social Work qualification.
  • Current Social Work England registration.
  • Significant post-qualifying experience in children’s social care.
  • Experience working with children with disabilities and complex needs.
  • Experience in safeguarding, risk assessment and care planning.
  • Experience supporting or supervising social work staff.
  • Knowledge of the Children Act 1989/2004, Care Act and SEND framework.

Desirable: Practice Educator, Practice Supervisor or other relevant post-qualifying qualification/leadership training.
