Reports to: Neighbourhood Housing Manager

Job Purpose

To be the key local contact for tenants, ensuring tenancies are supported, properties are maintained, and communities remain safe, clean, and inclusive. The role involves tenancy management, estate oversight, and working with partners to provide support to vulnerable residents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a patch of properties, providing tenancy support and early intervention to sustain tenancies.
  • Carry out home visits, approve mutual exchanges, and assist with housing advice and rehousing.
  • Respond to reports of anti-social behaviour, nuisance, and tenancy breaches, working with other services to resolve issues.
  • Conduct inspections and estate management to maintain safe, clean, and well-maintained neighbourhoods.
  • Work with vulnerable tenants, making referrals and monitoring support plans.
  • Promote tenant involvement and consult on service improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety, equality, diversity, and council values.
  • Contribute to team objectives, continuous improvement, and professional development.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Understanding of housing and social care issues.
  • Effective communication, negotiation, and partnership working skills.
  • Strong organisation, time management, and ICT skills (Microsoft Office).

Experience

  • Supporting vulnerable customers and handling difficult situations.
  • Managing a varied workload under pressure and meeting targets.

Qualifications

  • 5 GCSEs (grades A-C or 9-4) including Maths and English, or equivalent experience.
