Purpose of the Role
To provide high-quality legal advice and support primarily in employment law, with additional responsibility for education-related matters. The role includes supervising junior staff and deputising for senior lawyers when required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide proactive, clear and practical legal advice to clients on employment and education matters
  • Handle employment litigation, including Employment Tribunal cases
  • Advise on large-scale restructures, redundancies and TUPE
  • Support organisational decision-making through legal input into policy and strategy development
  • Supervise and mentor Senior Legal Assistants, Legal Assistants and/or trainees
  • Deputise for Senior Lawyers as required

Qualifications and Membership

  • Admitted Solicitor, Barrister or FILEX

Knowledge and Experience

  • Strong working knowledge of employment litigation, restructures, redundancies and TUPE
  • Post-qualification experience in the legal profession
  • Substantial recent experience (ideally within the last two years) in employment and/or education law
  • Experience contributing to corporate decision-making and policy development
