Role Overview
We are seeking a qualified accountant (CIPFA, ACCA, or ACA) to provide specialist financial support to the Dedicated Schools Grant (DSG) management process within a local authority education setting. The role will focus on developing and maintaining robust financial models, supporting DSG planning, and contributing to Medium-Term Financial Planning (MTFP) and scenario analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the production and maintenance of the DSG management plan
- Develop and maintain accurate and robust financial models for DSG funding
- Deliver scenario planning and financial modelling to support MTFP development
- Ensure financial data used is accurate, consistent, and reliable
- Work closely with Education teams, Children’s Services Finance Business Partner, and DSG funding coordinator
- Provide ongoing financial support to Education services following submission of the DSG plan (post-June)
Requirements
- Fully qualified accountant (CIPFA, ACCA, or ACA)
- Strong experience in financial modelling and budget forecasting
- Knowledge of local authority or public sector finance, ideally education funding/DSG
- Ability to analyse complex financial data and support strategic decision-making
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Working Style
Primarily home-based with occasional office attendance
