Job Description: Digital Project Manager

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced Digital Project Manager to lead our team in delivering outstanding IT infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing complex public sector IT infrastructure projects, including network modernisation, hosting environment change, and simplification exercises. They will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
• Work under the direction of a Programme Manager, and an approved strategic IT change programme, to deliver a range of IT infrastructure projects.
• Work within agreed project management processes and methodologies to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet programme expectations.
• Develop detailed project plans, including goals, timelines, and budgets.
• Manage project scope and changes, and coordinate project staff and internal/external resources and suppliers
• Assign tasks to project team members and monitor project progress regularly.
• Communicate project progress to the programme manager and provide regular updates.
• Identify and mitigate potential risks or issues, and devise contingency plans, escalating to the Programme Manager and seeking advice appropriately as required
• Ensure all projects are delivered on-time, and within agreed scope and budget.
• Prepare project documentation, including briefs, project plans, and post-project reports.
• Work closely with the team and stakeholders to remove roadblocks and keep the project moving forward.
• Conduct post-project evaluation and identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
Qualifications:
• Proven track record and experience as a Digital Project Manager, preferably in public sector IT infrastructure projects.
• Qualified project manager, ideally PRINCE 2

• Extensive experience in managing IT infrastructure projects, ideally in the public sector.
• Strong understanding of project management methodologies and best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and strategically.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and manage a team.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels.
• Proactive and experienced in working in complex programme environments.
• Ability to apply excellent judgement in terms of risk and issue escalation to keep projects on track.
• Hands-on experience with project management software, such as MS Projects.
• Familiarity with network modernisation, hosting environment change, and IT simplification exercises.
• Excellent organisation and time management skills.
• Strong communication and team management skills.
