Slough Borough Council is seeking an experienced Data Analyst to support the improvement of data usage across Adult Services. The role will focus on integrating and analysing data from multiple systems and delivering insightful dashboards and reporting using Power BI to support data-driven decision making. You will work closely with stakeholders across the organisation to ensure data is accurate, accessible, and translated into meaningful insights that support service delivery and strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to provide management information including KPIs, performance indicators, and statutory reporting.
  • Integrate and manage datasets from multiple systems including Adult Services platforms such as Liquidlogic and Controcc.
  • Ensure high data quality, performing data cleansing, validation, and standardisation across datasets.
  • Build and maintain the technical infrastructure required to host and integrate disparate data sources.
  • Analyse large datasets to identify patterns, trends, and opportunities for service improvement.
  • Work with service teams to understand reporting needs and translate these into insightful visualisations and analytics.
  • Present findings clearly to stakeholders, helping them interpret insights to support better decision-making.
  • Support the development of the council’s data strategy and data-driven culture.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners on data projects and reporting initiatives.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience working as a Data Analyst, BI Analyst, or Information Analyst.
  • Strong experience with Power BI for dashboard development and reporting.
  • Proficiency in SQL and working with large, complex datasets.
  • Experience integrating and analysing data from multiple systems and sources.
  • Ability to translate complex data into clear insights and visual reports for stakeholders.
  • Experience presenting analytical findings to non-technical audiences.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience working in the public sector or local government.
  • Knowledge of Adult Social Care systems such as Liquidlogic or Controcc.
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Python, or R.
  • Understanding of data pipelines, data modelling, and data quality frameworks.
