Main Purpose

To lead and manage complex projects that improve Council services, deliver efficiencies, introduce new ways of working and achieve measurable business benefits.

Typical Day

  • Manage projects from planning through to delivery.
  • Coordinate project teams and resources.
  • Work with stakeholders, partners and suppliers.
  • Monitor budgets, risks, issues and project progress.
  • Identify opportunities for service improvements and efficiencies.
  • Prepare project plans, reports and business documentation.
  • Track project benefits and ensure successful outcomes.
  • Present updates to senior management and project boards.

  • Degree-level qualification in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • Significant experience using project and change management techniques.
  • Experience delivering projects from concept through to business as usual.
  • Experience managing successful business redesign projects.
  • Strong understanding of change management and process reengineering.
  • Excellent organisation, planning and communication skills.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office, including MS Project.
  • Ability to prepare reports, budgets, costings and risk analyses.
  • Experience working with a wide range of stakeholders.
