About the Role

We are seeking an experienced

Class C HGV Driver to work as a Fleet Logistics Vehicle Transporter Driver, providing essential vehicle transportation and logistics support to operational teams.

The successful candidate will operate a multi-vehicle transporter up to 26 tonnes , safely transporting and collecting fleet vehicles between workshops, accident repair centres, third-party garages, dealerships and operational sites across Surrey and Sussex.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive Class C HGV vehicles and transport fleet vehicles safely and efficiently.
  • Load and transport up to six vehicles on the vehicle transporter.
  • Ensure vehicles are correctly positioned, secured and safely loaded before transportation.
  • Plan loading sequences carefully, considering weight distribution and axle limits.
  • Collect and deliver vehicles to workshops, repair centres, garages, dealerships and operational departments.
  • Plan journeys efficiently and identify safe alternative routes when circumstances change.
  • Carry out appropriate risk assessments and manage risks relating to vehicles, loads and road conditions.
  • Liaise professionally with internal teams, suppliers, garages, dealerships and other stakeholders.
  • Carry out discreet vehicle movements when required.
  • Provide driving support to senior management when required.
  • Clean and valet vehicles to maintain a safe, clean and professional standard.
  • Maintain cleanliness and good housekeeping within the workshop and yard.
  • Manage local stock such as oils, lubricants and screen wash in accordance with

COSHH and Health & Safety requirements .

  • Report and resolve any issues relating to vehicle movements, loading or transportation promptly.
  • Adapt to changing operational requirements, including occasional evening and weekend working.
  • Undertake other reasonable duties appropriate to the role.

Essential Experience & Requirements

  • Valid

Class C / Category C HGV licence .

  • Previous professional HGV driving experience.
  • Experience transporting, collecting or delivering vehicles is highly desirable.
  • Experience loading and securing vehicles or other large loads.
  • Good understanding of load security, weight distribution and vehicle safety.
  • Strong knowledge of UK roads and route planning.
  • Good Health & Safety awareness.
  • Ability to work independently and use initiative when dealing with changing circumstances.
  • Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Reliable, professional and safety-conscious approach.

Desirable

  • Previous experience as an

HGV Vehicle Transporter Driver, Car Transporter Driver or Fleet Driver .

  • Experience working within a fleet, transport, recovery or vehicle logistics environment.
  • Experience working within a public-sector, emergency services or operational environment.
