Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Cleaner to support the maintenance of clean, hygienic and safe environments across designated premises. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out general cleaning duties, ensuring that floors, toilets and communal areas are kept clean and presentable. The role requires good attention to detail, the ability to work independently and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and health and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out general cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming and dusting.
- Clean and sanitise toilets, washrooms and other designated areas.
- Maintain cleanliness across floors, communal areas and frequently used spaces.
- Empty bins and dispose of waste safely and appropriately.
- Use cleaning products and equipment in accordance with health and safety procedures.
- Replenish essential supplies, including soap, toilet paper and paper towels, where required.
- Identify and report maintenance issues, damage or health and safety hazards.
- Follow cleaning schedules and ensure all tasks are completed to the required standard.
- Maintain a safe and hygienic environment for staff, visitors and other building users.
- Comply with relevant safeguarding requirements and site-specific procedures when working in school premises.
Essential Requirements
- Previous cleaning experience is desirable.
- Ability to work independently and manage cleaning tasks effectively.
- Good attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene.
- Understanding of basic health and safety procedures when using cleaning products and equipment.
- Reliability, punctuality and a flexible approach to work.
- Ability to follow instructions and complete cleaning schedules.
Additional Information
The successful candidate may be required to work across the designated locations. Working hours, shift patterns and the exact allocation of duties will be confirmed by the hiring manager.
Where duties involve working in school premises, the appropriate DBS and safeguarding checks will be determined in line with the responsibilities of the role and applicable eligibility requirements.
