PAYE Pay Rate: £94.05 per day

Main Purpose of the Role

To ensure Chepstow School is maintained to a high standard of cleanliness, hygiene and safety, providing a clean and welcoming environment for pupils, staff and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out daily cleaning duties including sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, mopping and polishing.
  • Clean floors, walls, classrooms, offices, corridors and sanitary areas.
  • Empty litter bins and dispose of waste appropriately.
  • Safely operate vacuum cleaners, polishing machines and other cleaning equipment.
  • Use cleaning chemicals safely and in accordance with procedures.
  • Maintain appropriate stocks of cleaning materials and report shortages.
  • Report any faults with cleaning equipment to the supervisor.
  • Follow the Council’s cleaning quality standards, Health & Safety procedures and safeguarding requirements.
  • Work effectively as part of the Facilities/Cleaning team.
  • Complete any relevant training required for the role.
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness at all times.
  • Follow equality, safeguarding and other Council policies and procedures.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in cleaning or hygiene work.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Reliable, flexible and able to work to required standards.
  • Good understanding of workplace health and safety.
  • Ability and willingness to follow cleaning procedures and safely use cleaning products and equipment.
  • Commitment to safeguarding children and maintaining a safe environment.
