PAYE Pay Rate – Β£13.45 per hour

Job Description

Support the Council’s Environmental Services team by keeping streets, public areas and green spaces clean, safe and well maintained.

Main Purpose of the Role

The main purpose of the role is to help keep the city clean, safe and well maintained. This includes carrying out street cleansing and grounds maintenance work, such as emptying bins, clearing litter and fly-tipping, grass cutting, strimming, pruning and planting. The role also involves supporting snow clearing and gritting when required. You will work safely, follow instructions and report any problems or faults to your Team Leader.

Typical Day

  • Check tools and equipment before starting work.
  • Receive daily instructions from the Team Leader.
  • Carry out cleaning or grounds maintenance tasks.
  • Work outdoors in different weather conditions.
  • Use handheld devices to record completed work and report faults.
  • Speak politely with members of the public.
  • Report problems or hazards to the Team Leader.
