We are looking for an experienced Team Manager to join our Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC) Service. This is a key leadership role, responsible for managing a team of Personal Advisors while also providing operational support and guidance to social workers on duty. You will play a vital role in ensuring that vulnerable young people receive high-quality, child-centred support and that staff are empowered to deliver effective and timely services. You will provide strong leadership, supervision, and oversight, promoting best practice and ensuring statutory responsibilities are met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of Personal Advisors and provide support to social workers within the UASC Service.
  • Deliver effective operational leadership, ensuring services meet statutory and legislative requirements.
  • Promote a culture of high performance, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure children and young people receive high-quality, child-centred assessments and support.
  • Provide reflective supervision, performance management, and professional development to team members.
  • Allocate and oversee caseloads, ensuring work is prioritised and managed effectively.
  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
  • Monitor service quality through auditing, feedback, and evidence-based practice.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partner agencies to achieve the best outcomes for children and families.
  • Support effective resource and budget management to ensure value for money.
  • Ensure staff have the tools, guidance, and support needed to work safely and effectively.
  • Contribute to service development and continuous improvement initiatives.
