Work Pattern: Mon - Fri (9 am till 5pm), 37 hours a week
PAYE Pay Rate: Β£25.82 to Β£26.91 per hour
Main Purpose
To provide strategic and expert HR advice to senior managers and services, supporting organisational change, employee relations and the delivery of the Council's people priorities.
The role will lead on complex HR matters, develop effective HR practices and policies, and support managers to improve performance, employee engagement and service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert HR advice to senior managers and leadership teams.
- Lead on complex employee relations, including Trade Union matters, TUPE, redundancy and organisational change.
- Support HR policy development and ensure compliance with employment legislation.
- Coach and advise managers on effective people management.
- Lead and support Job Evaluation and pay-related activity.
- Support health, wellbeing, equality and employee engagement initiatives.
- Build strong relationships with managers, Trade Unions and external stakeholders.
- Manage and develop HR Business Partnering staff.
- Identify opportunities to improve HR services and ways of working.
- Deputies for the Head of HR when required.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Senior HR Business Partnering experience.
- Strong knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practice.
- Significant employee relations and Trade Union experience.
- Experience advising and influencing senior managers.
- Strong communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational and relationship-building skills.
- Experience managing change and developing HR policies.
- Ability to work independently and provide practical, business-focused solutions.
Essential Qualifications
- Degree level qualification or equivalent experience.
- Level 7 CIPD qualification or equivalent.
- Relevant management experience or qualification.
- Evidence of ongoing CPD.
